Handsboro Baptist Church brings Gulfport community together to honor law enforcement

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Handsboro Baptist Church brought the community together to honor law enforcement during National Police Appreciation Week.

Officers from across the Coast gathered for a special luncheon that included fellowship and prayer.

Children from the community took time to write personal letters to officers, reading their messages of gratitude face-to-face.

Overall, the event created an opportunity for families, church members, and law enforcement to connect showcasing unity and support.

Church members said they wanted the local officers to know they’re appreciated both on and off the job.
