Blood clot awareness tour stopping in Gulfport to help educate Coast residents

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Red Bus Mississippi Blood Clot Awareness Tour will soon be stopping by Memorial Hospital in Gulfport to provide information on recognizing symptoms, understanding risks, and knowing when to get medical care.

The event will feature a panel that will discuss all things related to warning signs, risk factors, and treatment options.

This is an effort to spread awareness and information as blood clots impact up to 900,000 Americans each year and contribute to as many as 100,000 deaths.  Yet many people don’t know the early warning signs.

Officials with Memorial Health System says this valuable information could save lives.

The event takes place at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport on May 21 at 11 a.m.
