A Hardened Biker Switches Gears
An ex-convict former biker gang member and heroin addict shared his journey to finding a new purpose in life with “Bond United Methodist Church” in Wiggins Sunday. By age fifteen New Orleans native, Billy Rivers was a full blown heroin addict. A trend of bad decisions landed him behind bars serving 11 years in prison. While spending time in Mississippi state prison, the mindset of Billy Rivers switched gears. His thoughts of crime and drug addiction switched to bible verses as he gave his life over to god. “Well if anyone would’ve told m years ago that I would be an evangelist, crossing the United States on a motorcycle, shining the light I a lost and dark world about Jesus Christ. I would’ve never believed that.” Rivers tells News 25 his past may be dark, but the mission God has placed on his heart outshines it all.
