Pests Aren’t Just Out on Halloween

Vampires, ghosts, goblins, and witches are usually recognized as the scariest creatures creeping around on Halloween.

While these horrors are just make-believe, there are actually some very real terrors that might be lurking in your own backyard. Pest control officials warn that bats, roaches, spiders, squirrels, and roof rats could all be lurking in our homes and to keep an eye out for any signs you may have unwanted guests.

Michael Pothier, Service Center Manager for Stark Exterminators, says, “There is a construction gap in most houses where the decking for the shingles doesn’t quite meet the fascia and there’s a gap there, so what they do is they get in the gutters and then they stick their heads up right under the shingles and pop right into your attics.”

If you experience any creepy pests, officials say to call your local exterminator or animal control.
