Lake Mars dredging project set to begin Friday in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Jackson County officials are asking boaters to use caution in the Lake Mars boat launch area starting this weekend.

Routine maintenance dredging operations are set to begin Friday at the lake.

Heavy equipment will be operating in the area as crews work to improve county waterways.

Boats are urged to stay alert, keep a safe distance from equipment, and follow directions from contractor personnel while work is underway.

The project is expected to wrap up sometime around May 22.
