Utz recalls some Zapp’s, Dirty potato chips

Utz is voluntarily recalling some varieties of its Zapps and Dirty potato chips because they might contain salmonella.

Utz says a seasoning powder contains dried milk that could be infected, although no illnesses have been reported.

The flavors affected include the Zapp’s Bayou Blackened Ranch and Big Cheesy, along with the Dirty brand sour cream and onion and Maui onion varieties.

Also in the recall, the sea salt and vinegar flavor from both brands.

Those varieties are sold nationwide. Utz is recommending customers throw out any affected packages.

You can call Utz customer care team for a refund, but you’ll need to have the package when you call.

Salmonella can cause serious and potentially fatal infections in babies, the elderly, and anyone with a weakened immune system.

To date, there have been no reports of illnesses.
