Governor Reeves declares Hurricane Preparedness Week May 3 – May 9, 2026
We’re now a month out from the start of the Atlantic Hurricane season and that means MEMA is reminding Mississippians about getting into a mindset of preparedness.
May 3rd through the 9th is Hurricane Preparedness Week across the state.
MEMA will share daily safety tips all week long, focusing on everything from knowing your risk to taking action before and after a storm.
Here on the Coast, the WXXV Weather Authority team is hard at work preparing our storm ready hurricane special, which is set to air at select times later this month.
