Pascagoula Police warn of phone scam impersonating chief, spoofing department number
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- Pascagoula Police Department is sharing details about a scam, specifically naming Chief Terry Scott.
The department says the caller claims to be part of the force and if you do not pay fines, Chief Scott will arrest you.
The police say they will never call you and ask for fines over the phone.
You should never give the caller any banking information.
The number calling is the department’s non-emergency line. The scammers are spoofing the number; it is not from them.
