Applications closed for Gulfport emergency home repair program

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The application window for Gulfport’s emergency homeowner repair program closed after just six minutes Monday morning after reaching the maximum number of submissions.

The program was limited to the first 50 people who submitted their applications, which was done by 9:06 a.m.

If all 50 applicants are approved, they’ll get up to $25,000 in assistance to cover essential fixes like roofing, plumbing, and electrical work to their homes.

Gulfport leaders say eligibility will now be determined based on income, homeownership, and keeping up with mortgage and property tax payments.

If you were unable to submit an application, Mayor Keating says to keep an eye out later this year for more information about the next application window.
