New Chick-Fil-A location officially opens its doors in Ocean Springs

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Ocean Springs celebrated a big milestone Thursday as its first Chick-Fil-A location opened, drawing large crowds and hungry Mississippians eager to join in the celebration.

Long lines formed as soon as doors opened Thursday morning, with many arriving in cow costumes as the store offered a free entrée or kids meal for those who came dressed up.

The new restaurant is also providing a boost to the local economy, creating about 115 jobs with opportunities ranging from entry-level positions to leadership roles.

On the first day of operation, ownership also made a $25,000 donation to Feeding the Gulf Coast to help support local efforts to battle food insecurity
