Coast law enforcement agencies warning residents of collection notice scam

Coast law enforcement agencies are sounding the alarm again after more text message scams are circulating across the state and our region.

The scam comes in the form of a court-ordered collection notice out of Hinds County.

If you read the document carefully, however, you’ll notice that there are numerous typos within the form, including the misspelling of Mississippi in the state seal at the top of the document.

If you receive one of these texts, police say to block the number and delete the message.
