Biloxi City Council to consider beautification plans

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- The Biloxi City Council is expected to vote this week on two city beautification measures put forth by the city’s beautification commission.

The first is the restoration of the moonwalk mural just south of the Fred Haise statue in the vicinity of the Biloxi Lighthouse.

The group is also proposing a new designation for that area, calling it ‘the Fred Haise Landing.’

Meanwhile, the council is expected to accept the commission’s first draft of a comprehensive beautification plan for the entire city.

The council will take up these measures at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at city hall.
