Officials to cut ribbon on Markham Hotel in Gulfport this week

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- We have some big news when it comes to the reopening of a Downtown Gulfport landmark. The Markham Hotel will open its doors later this week.

The Markham Hotel posted on social media there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony this Thursday, April 23.

This restoration has been years and even decades in the making for the nearly 100-year-old building.

The new version of the Markham will feature a variety of dining options, a fully restored ballroom, and even a restored swimming pool, among other amenities.
