‘Rising Stars’ events help Gulfport High students prepare for the future

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-Gulfport High School hosted an annual event Friday intended to help students prepare for life after graduation. 

The Rising Stars event allowed juniors and seniors to take part in hands-on workshops designed to build real world skills.

Students learned about financial literacy, professional etiquette, and interview preparation through mock interviews and interactive training. 

Local businesses, industry partners, and colleges were on campus sharing what it takes to succeed in today’s workforce. 

Organizers say the goal is to help students build up confidence. 

Organizers hope students didn’t take this opportunity for granted and that they walk away with lasting knowledge that they’ll carry into future success.
