Scuba Steve arrested on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer

A man known locally as Scuba Steve is facing charges after he impersonated an officer at a street fair. 

The incident happened Saturday morning during the Picayune Street Fair. Officers were clearing vehicles from a barricaded area when one driver, identified as Steve Johnson, refused to move. 

Johnson claimed he was an officer himself, but when asked to show a badge, he told them he had left it at home. When pressed about what department he worked for, officers say he walked away. 

A warrant was later issued and Johnson was arrested in Harrison County by Gulfport police on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer.
