U.S. House passes bill honoring George County Deputy Jeremy Malone

The U.S. House has passed a bill to honor fallen George County Deputy Jeremy Malone.

House Resolution 6995 would designate the George County Post Office on Highway 198 in Beaumont as the Jeremy Malone Post Office.

Deputy Malone was killed during a traffic stop on January 4, 2024.

The House passed the resolution Tuesday. Congressman Mike Ezell spoke on the floor of the House to pay tribute to Malone and his enduring legacy.

The bill now heads to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
