Family of fatal train crash victims file suit against train operator

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Family members of some of the victims killed in a deadly train-van collision in Stone County late last month have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the train’s operators.

That’s according to our media partner, the Sun Herald.

The suit was filed in Stone County Circuit Court by Gulfport attorney David Pitre on behalf of the beneficiaries of Kristina Carver, her daughters, and her fiancé, Ryan Peterson, who all died in the crash on March 27.

The train’s operator is the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway Company.

The lawsuit seeks damages and accuses the train operators of negligent and reckless operation.

The rail company has not released any comment on the lawsuit as of right now.
