Community honors Deputy Jimerson during funeral procession

Following Deputy Jimerson’s funeral, a large procession took place across Harrison and Jackson counties.

South Mississippian’s gathered Friday afternoon to honor the life and legacy of Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Jimerson.

Dozens of supporters set up near the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge as a procession of hundreds of law enforcement officers rode through, waving flags and standing in reverence as Jimerson’s hearse approached the top of the bridge, three military helicopters flew overhead, all of this done in support of the fallen officer’s service to his community.

Those who knew Jimerson described him as kind and giving, adding that he’d be honored by the support.
