Child dies in two-car crash in Pearl River County
PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A nine-year-old child died Tuesday morning in a two-car crash in Pearl River County.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officials say the crash happened around 7 a.m. near Highway 43 and Salem Road.
A Dodge Ram truck was traveling north on the highway, and collided with a Honda Civic that had been traveling south at Salem Road near the intersection with the highway.
The nine-year-old, a five-year-old who was also in the Civic, and the driver of the Dodge Ram were all taken to the hospital with injuries.
The nine-year-old later died at the hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
