Gulfport PD invites community to Autism Safety Day

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport Police Department will be hosting an Autism Safety Day at their headquarters.

This event takes place April 18. From 10 a.m. to noon, all children diagnosed with autism and their families are invited to interact with first responders in a non-emergency environment.

The fire department and Pafford EMS will be at the police department as well.

Those who come out can expect to meet McGruff the Crime Dog, take part in sensory activities, receive child ID kits, and more.
