Liquor delivery logjam in Mississippi impacting Coast businesses

A severe backlog in deliveries from the Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control Warehouse is leaving bars, restaurants, and liquor stores around the state without product.

Three liquor stores on the Coast are suing the company contracted by the state to make deliveries.

Package stores and bars are losing product and patience.

The situation is so bad that the legislature has been looking into it as businesses are suffering from a lack of wine and liquor.

The old ABC Warehouse has been operating since 1983. A new, larger 495 million warehouse has been under construction and is expected to open by the end of the year.
