Popp’s Ferry Road Construction

It’s good news for Coast residents who make the daily commute through the Cedar Lake and Popp’s Ferry Road intersection in Biloxi.
The road widening project between Cedar Lake Road and the D’Iberville city limits is expected to be complete in September.
City officials tell News 25 Lane Construction Corporation is making the current road into a boulevard setting with a 16 foot wide median in the center, two travel lanes on both sides and sidewalks on both sides as well. “I know everybody’s been patient that has used that area, but we have a new Walmart coming up there. We’ve got new apartment complexes. We’ve got the new junior high school. There’s a lot of traffic in that area and so this will help alleviate the crush of the traffic,” said City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel.
The project stretches a mile long and costs $6.5 million and most of the money is coming from the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
