City of Lucedale holding public meeting to discuss water fluoridation

LUCEDALE, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Lucedale is asking for citizen input on a proposed change to its drinking water.

City leaders are considering stopping the addition of fluoride to water. Fluoride is commonly used in public water systems to help prevent tooth decay.

A public hearing on the issue is set for April 7 at 5 p.m. at Lucedale City Hall during a work session of the board of aldermen.

Officials say they want to hear from residents before a decision is made. That meeting is open to the public for people to share comments and concerns.
