Ship Island Excursions 100th season begins
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)– A ferry service that has provided memories for over a million guests is celebrating a century of service to South Mississippi.
Ship Island Excursions kicked off its 100th season on Saturday, as the the usual lineup of cruises to and from Ship Island begin for 2026.
Since its founding, the family-owned business has been a mainstay of the Coast, with generations of Skrmetta family members working in the business, both on the ferry service and on the island itself in various capacities.
