Gulf Coast Research Lab announces improvements to Marine Education Center
The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory announced exciting improvements coming to their Marine Education Center.
The living shoreline and access project is an important initiative to enhance coastal education and help protect our shorelines.
This is all made possible by the Tidelands Trust Fund and made possible by an appropriation from the Mississippi Legislature.
The living shoreline will include recycled oyster shells, made possible through the collaboration with the nature conservancy’s ‘Save our Shells’ program, along with use natural materials and habitat building techniques to protect coasts while restoring and creating valuable coastal habitat.
