Congressman Mike Ezell and State Representative Jeffrey Hulum III advance to November’s general election

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)–The November general election race for Mississippi’s Fourth Congressional District has been set following Tuesday night’s Republican and Democratic elections for the seat.

In the Republican primary, incumbent two-term congressman Mike Ezell easily won renomination as he seeks a third term, after fending off a primary challenge from Sawyer Walters.

As of 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, Ezell has 84.1% of the vote, compared to Walters’ 15.9%, according to the Associated Press. 

In the three-person Democratic primary for this seat, State Representative Jeffrey Hulum III will advance to the general election against Ezell in November.

As of 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, Hulum has 57.6% of the vote in this race, with Paul Blackman at 27.7% and D. Ryan Grover at 14.6%, according to the Associated Press.

Hulum currently represents District 119 in the Mississippi House of Representatives, a district based mostly in Gulfport.
