Arson arrest in Jackson County

A D’Iberville man faces arson charges after authorities say he tried to burn down a home in Gulf Park Estates near Ocean Springs while someone was inside.
Sheriff Mike Ezell tells News 25 they saw a fire in the driveway and a resident was attempting to hose out flames. Ezell says deputies found a kerosene can with a rag hanging from the lid and video surveillance shows 26-year-old Tony Truong standing in the front yard holding the can and throwing it through the car port window.
Part of the floor and carport wall caught fire. No one was injured.
Truong posted a $10,000 bond, but Sheriff Ezell says deputies have responded to his home four times this year. There appears to be an ongoing dispute between the suspect and the victim.
