St. Stanislaus basketball looking for first state title since 2011
JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV) — St. Stanislaus has tested itself big time on the hardwood this season — from playing and winning against schools in higher classifications, to competing in out-of-state tournaments.
Those experiences have helped set the program up for its first state championship appearance since 2011.
Additionally, the team is lead by head coach Daniel Grieves and assistant coach Ramone Tate, both of whom played on that 2011 championship-winning team. In fact, Grieves is the program’s all-time leading scorer. Saturday’s game will be a full-circle moment for bot hcoaches.
One thing about the Rock-A-Chaws on the court is that they’ll beat anyone on the fast break. The team is quick, versatile and full of extremely smart basketball players — all characteristics that make SSC a championship-caliber team.
St. Stanislaus will face Quitman for the title on Saturday at 4 p.m.
