March is Dolphin Awareness Month

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- March is Dolphin Awareness Month, but also the peak of stranding season.

All along the Gulf Coast the number of stranded dolphins found dead or alive is at its highest this time of year.

The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies says on average at least 50 dead dolphins will wash up on the beach, with ten washing up so far this year.
