Gulf Coast Community Foundation holds 228 Day Open House

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulf Coast Community Foundation is celebrating 36 years of giving back with its second annual 228 Day Open House at the Knight Nonprofit Center.

228 is more than just our area code, it’s a reminder that this community always shows up and shows out for its own.

The 228 Day Open House wraps up a month-long campaign focused on philanthropy, volunteerism, and community collaboration across South Mississippi.

From disaster relief to education and child welfare initiatives, the foundation continues to adapt and respond to the Coast’s most pressing challenges.

The event highlights the foundation’s community impact fund, which provides flexible support to address urgent and emerging needs across its six-county service area.
