Chevron Refinery sharing details following flaring incident
Jackson County, Miss. (WXXV)- The Jackson County Office of Emergency Services is sharing details about a flaring incident. That happened at the Pascagoula Chevron Refinery.
Thursday evening, the Chevron Facility experienced several unit upsets that resulted in visible flaring across the area.
Chevron says the flaring is part of the refinery’s safety systems and use used to safely manage excess materials and pressure during upsets.
No injuries were reported and there is no danger to the community.
The Office of Emergency Services took part in the response and is working to make sure all systems function as designed.
