Man arrested in Jackson County hostage case denied bail
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The man accused of holding an elderly relative hostage Monday at a home in the Gulf Park Estates community was denied bail Tuesday during his initial court appearance.
Forty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Nelson is charged with domestic violence by aggravated assault and kidnapping.
SWAT teams had to breach the house on Barnacle Lane Monday afternoon to take him into custody.
The elderly woman being held hostage was not injured during the ordeal.
