Ocean Springs signs 19 athletes across seven different sports

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV) — Ocean Springs hosted a massive event for National Signing Day to honor its student-athletes who will be moving to the collegiate level in men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball.

“Man it feels great, cause, you know, it’s something that we always look up to since we were young,” baseball signee Johan Baez said. “You know, going to that next level to get that next step to play Division I baseball feels great man, it’s something I’ve been looking up to since I was a kid.”

“It means a lot cause it just signifies us finally reaching that goal that we’ve been working for through all of high school, through all of middle school and being able to build on that goal and go compete at the next level is really awesome,” volleyball signee Anna Hoffmayer said.

“It means a lot to me because I’ve always had a passion [for] the game of baseball, and growing up I just loved the game so much and I wanted to play at the next level, and my hard work paid off,” baseball signee Justin San Miguel said. “All the hours I’ve put in, it’s just… it feel amazing to know that I’m going to the next level.”
