Jackson County Fire Protection honors former department chief

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Jackson County Fire Protection team shared details from a funeral procession honoring a former department chief.

Albert Lechner passed away on January 25 at the age of 84. A procession in his honor took place on Friday.

Lechner was a long-time volunteer with the original West Jackson County Volunteer Fire Department, reaching the rank of department chief.

Aside from his work with the department, he retired from Ingalls as a wielder. He was buried at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
