Local educators receive Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grants
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Ten Mississippi teachers are getting more than just applause for their hard work, they’re also getting cash to bring creative ideas into their classrooms.
Friday morning, educators from across the Gulf Coast were honored with Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher grants.
From hands-on science projects to creative learning tools, ten Mississippi teachers were recognized for taking education beyond the textbook.
Educators from Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, and Madison counties all received Innovative Teacher Grant Awards.
Each teacher received up to $2,000 to support projects that align with Mississippi’s K through 12 curriculum and encourage hands on learning.
The grants are funded by Hancock Whitney and administered by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, honoring the legacy of Leo W. Seal Senior and Junior, longtime champions of education and economic growth along the Gulf Coast.
