Donation drive for residents impacted by winter storms

Cities in South Mississippi are collecting donations for those impacted by the winter storms in North Mississippi.

The cities of Long Beach, Gulfport, and D’Iberville are collecting donations for Coldwater, Mississippi.

They are collecting bottled water, hygiene products, canned goods, bread, blankets and electric heaters.

Drop off locations are:

  • All Gulfport Fire Department stations
  • Long Beach Central Fire Station-Klondyke Road
  • D’Iberville Fire Department

Donations will be collected until February 1.

Harrison County is also collecting donated items for to help those affected by the recent ice storm in Northern Mississippi.

Collected items will be delivered to Humphreys County, Lafayette County and other counties as needed.

Needed items include:

  • packages of bottled
  • water shelf-stable food items
  • flashlights with batteries
  • diapers and baby supplies
  • propane

Items may be dropped off beginning Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Harrison County Fairgrounds, located at 15321 County Farm Road in Gulfport.

Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily through Monday, Feb. 2.
