Humane Society of South Mississippi opens cold weather pet shelter

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Keeping our animals safe is especially critical during this cold snap and this week the Humane Society of South Mississippi is doing its part to keep pets warm.

HSSM will continue to serve as a cold weather shelter for people to drop off their pets if they need a warm accommodation for them, each day through this Saturday.

They’re also distributing free pine straw for those of you who have outdoor shelters for your animals.

Pet drop-off and pickup at HSSM’s cold weather shelter runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day this week.
