Rick Cleveland Speaks at Baseball Luncheon
Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame’s Rick Cleveland says the new baseball exhibit luncheon is something the entire Coast can get excited about.
The sports historian was speaking at the “Our Love Affair with Baseball” exhibition speaker series today in Biloxi. Just about every seat was full for the new weekly luncheon at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.
Cleveland talked about the days when he was a sports journalist. He shared stories and laughs with the crowd.
Cleveland tells News 25 the recently opened exhibit at the museum is worth taking a look at. “Baseball has such a long history on the Coast that not a lot of young people know about. They can learn about it here and I think that’s cool. As Faulkner said ‘you can’t understand the future if you don’t know the past.’”
WXXV is a proud sponsor of the Luncheon.
The series continues next week with Mississippi Hall of Famer and former owner of the Jackson Mets J. Con Maloney.
