Gautier Coach Jacob Plocher wins Fifth Marathon!
One local Jackson County man wears a whole lot of hats! He’s a husband, father, school counselor, high school coach, and now a five time marathon winner! This past sunday, Gautier’s Jacob Plocher was the first to cross the finish line at the Lousiana Maranthon with an outstanding time of 2 hours 28 minutes and 49 seconds. He said when pain tried to creep in, he thought of his two year old son, Miles, who even ran with him some along the way!
Miles isn’t the only person Plocher is training for greatness, as he’s also the cross country and distance track and field coach at Gautier high school. Plocher truly finds joy in helping each student athlete no matter what kind of pace they’re going at. Whether it’s pushing them through a tough ab workout or encouraging them to finish a long distance, Coach Plocher is thrilled to keep doing what he loves with both his family and his athletes.
Hear from Plocher and watch him in action in the video above!
