Façade grant checks presented to businesses in Wiggins

WIGGINS, Miss. (WXXV)- Many businesses in Wiggins are getting a fresh new look, including Hilltop Daiquiri and Taco Bar in the downtown business district.

It’s all thanks to a downtown revitalization project led by the Stone County Economic Development Partnership and Mississippi Power Foundation.

The Stone County Economic Development Partnership and Mississippi Power Foundation presented a check for more than $3,000 to match the improvements.

The project included new exterior paint and upgrades to create an outdoor seating area with a handicapped accessible entrance. Leaders say these updates help create a more welcoming and vibrant downtown district.

More funding is already on the way with $50,000 set aside for the next round of façade grants.
