Biloxi Police John Miller last day on the job before retirement

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Today is Biloxi Police Chief John Miller’s last day on the job before his retirement.

Chief Miller has served the city for more than three decades, first joining the force in December 1990.

He was named the city’s police chief in 2009, but he didn’t follow a conventional route to the rank.

Chief Miller says he never had the chance to be assistant chief, being named chief while he was still a captain in criminal investigations.

Chief Miller says the thing he’ll miss most about the job is all the people he met along the way.
