Oath of Office Ceremony in Gulfport

Billy Hewes took his oath of office at First United Methodist Church on 15th Street. This marks the beginning of Hewes’ second term as mayor.
The Gulfport native led the City of Gulfport through tragic and triumphant times from 2013 to 2017. Tonight, he recapped some of those accomplishments and milestone celebrations such as the kickoff party for the Mississippi Bicentennial.
Members of the City of Gulfport Election Commission, Republican Executive Committee, and Democratic Executive Committee were sworn in this evening as well.
