A rise in Coast Mardi Gras sales

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- Mardi Gras excitement is building across the Coast as early sales numbers show residents are ready to celebrate in a big way.

Business is booming at costume shops and parade supply stores as shoppers stock up for the season.

Local businesses report Mardi Gras sales are already ahead of last year, driven by strong demand for beads, costumes, and parade essentials.

Store owners say the early rush is a good sign with several weeks of parades still to come.

The next two parades to roll through Downtown Ocean Springs are January 31 beginning at 1 p.m.
