Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce holds One Coast Awards Breakfast Ceremony

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce honored those making a difference within their community at the One Coast Awards Breakfast Ceremony.

Community leaders and up and coming business professionals gathered inside the Magnolia Ballroom at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino to honor the top 10 under 40 and Community Leaders with the annual One Coast Awards Breakfast Ceremony. Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce CEO Adele Lyons said, “It’s just important for us to recognize the leadership because it is important for us to solve our challenges and our problems in the community to have people who are willing to step up.”

The program and awards ceremony has been revitalized as the One Coast Awards Ceremony to continue the  idea that One Coast is a regional belief in celebration of every community. “Most of these community leaders that receive these awards really understand the importance of partnerships, collaborations, coming together, working together, that not one person or one organization can really take on the challenges that we might face.”

Mike Davis was awarded with the Community Leader Award for his hospitality work as the director of sales at the IP Casino Resort Spa. “I’m very passionate about tourism. Our Coast is nothing but tourism as a resource for Mississippi. I appreciate all of our guests and everyone that comes here, but our team that puts together out ability to bring people together is just a wonderful opportunity for us.”

Another recipient of an award was Kerri Paul. She was awarded a Top 10 under 40 Award for her work as an influencer, blogger, and owner of Brick and Spoon. “I have always wanted to provide resources and opportunities to those around me and also to shine a light on the beautiful things that the Gulf Coast has to offer.”

Both recipients say they are grateful for the award and will continue to serve the Coast. Paul said, “It feels great to be honored as a Top 10 under 40. As a Gulf Coast native, I have been here my whole life.”

Davis said, “It’s humbling, especially with all the leaders in this room. Many of them are my mentors that I have been with for many years.”
