Local bakeries rolling out king cakes for Mardi Gras

Bakeries are dusting off the glitter and firing up the ovens to prepare the sweetest tradition of the Mardi Gras season.

Local shops are rolling out their own special versions of the famous cake. Each crafting their own unique fillings and flavors.

Though Carnival is just kicking off, some shops are already selling out.

WXXV News 25 stopped by Dolce Bakeshop in Long Beach to get a look at how these local bakeries are handling the start of a busy king cake season.

Whether you like to keep it traditional or want something a little more unique, a king cake is sure to get you in the Mardi Gras spirit.
