12/30 – Gradual Warm Up Coming After Tonight
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast
A chilly start on New Year’s Eve gives way to a milder, more spring-like stretch as we head into 2026.
Widespread frost develops late tonight with lows near 30 and clear skies allowing temperatures to drop quickly. Sunshine dominates Wednesday, but still feels cool with highs in the upper 50s. By Wednesday night, temperatures begin a steady climb, setting the stage for a warmer New Year’s Day with sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s.
The warming trend continues into Friday, with highs pushing near 70 under partly sunny skies. Our next weather maker arrives Friday night, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms, a few of which could linger into early Saturday. Rain chances taper off quickly, and the weekend looks pleasant overall with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Early next week stays mild and dry, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs hovering near 70.
