MDOT prepares for holiday travel rush
The Mississippi Department of Transportation is stopping maintenance work on Mississippi roads ahead of the Christmas holiday.
That work stoppage begins next Wednesday and continues through New Year’s Day.
Despite that, some lane closures will remain in effect for the holidays.
MDOT crews say you should still treat these areas like active construction zones and exercise caution while driving during the holidays in general.
