Seven Coast teams win MHSAA spirit titles
JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV) — Over the weekend, seven teams from across South Mississippi won their respective divisions at the MHSAA Cheer and Dance State Championships in Jackson.
Stone Middle School cheer won first place in Junior High Game Day Small.
Hancock High School won the state championship in Varsity Co-Ed Cheer.
Stone High School also took home championship honors in Varsity Game Day Cheer for Class 5A.
The Picayune Maroon Tide were named champions in the Class 6A Varsity Game Day Cheer division.
Lastly in cheer, Ocean Springs won the state title for Varsity All-Girl Performance in classes 5A-7A.
Moving to dance, Ocean Springs Middle School took home first place in Junior High Jazz, and Our Lady Academy received first as well in Junior Varsity Jazz.
