Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports new scam going around

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- In Jackson County, deputies are receiving reports of a current scam.

Multiple people have reported getting calls from people who tell them they have a warrant out for their arrest or are being asked to bond people out of jail.

The phone number appears to be a legitimate number for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, but department leaders say the scammers are using a call spoofing technology.

If you get one of these calls, do not send any personal information and report the call to the sheriff’s office immediately.
