Remembering victims of Lake Pontchartrain plane crash

Search efforts continue after a flight instructor and a student pilot from Gulfport-based flight school are presumed dead after their Cessna plane crashed into the waters of Lake Pontchartrain.

The flight took off on November 24 around 5:45 p.m., headed to New Orleans. Contact was lost with the plane around 6:23 p.m.

One of the Mississippi Gulf Coast based pilots onboard was 30-year-old Taylor Dickey, a contract flight instructor for Apollo.

Dickey and the student pilot aboard the Cessna Skyhawk Aircraft are still being searched for and their bodies have not been recovered. The identity of the student pilot is not being released at this time.

Apollo Flight Training Owner Michael Carastro took the time to tell us more about Taylor Dickey and update us with more information.

You can hear what Carastro had to say in the video above.
